International sports competitions have recently drawn attention to targeted-attack actors. This talk will elaborate on the observed effects of intrusions attributed to Russia-based actor FANCY BEAR (APT28) and others, targeting bodies surrounding the Olympics. Leaked data via the fancybear[.]net attribution front is linked to past intrusions and enriched with likely actor intentions. Finally, the upcoming Winter Olympics in South Korea and possible attack vectors will be outlined.
